Welcome to Van Life Buddy (“VLB”, “we”, “our”, “us”). By accessing or using the VLB app or website, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Description of Service

Van Life Buddy is a free van‑life companion app that provides:

• maps of essential locations
• navigation assistance
• saved locations
• Trust Circle safety alerts
• optional SOS safety pings
• community‑based help features
• future marketplace listings

Features may change or evolve over time.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use VLB. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

4. User Accounts

To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• provide accurate information
• keep your login credentials secure
• be responsible for all activity under your account

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Location Services

VLB relies on location data to operate core features. By using the app, you consent to:

• GPS access
• background location (if enabled)
• distance‑based ranking of map results

You may disable location access at any time, but some features may not work.

6. Safety Features & SOS System

VLB offers optional safety tools, including:

• periodic safety pings
• Trust Circle alerts
• SOS mode that shares your general location with nearby users

These features are assistive tools, not emergency services. VLB does not replace 911 or professional roadside assistance.

You are responsible for your own safety and decisions while traveling.

7. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• misuse the app
• harass or harm other users
• post false or misleading information
• attempt to access restricted areas of the app
• reverse engineer or modify the software
• use VLB for illegal activities

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules.

8. Marketplace & Listings (Future Feature)

If you create listings or offer services:

• you are responsible for the accuracy of your listings
• you must comply with local laws
• VLB is not responsible for transactions between users
• VLB may remove listings that violate policies

Service providers may pay for placement or visibility.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, design, and software within VLB are owned by us or licensed to us. You may not:

• copy
• distribute
• modify
• reproduce
• reverse engineer

any part of the app without permission.

10. Third‑Party Services

VLB may link to or integrate with third‑party services such as:

• map providers
• analytics tools
• payment processors (future)

We are not responsible for third‑party content or policies.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

VLB is provided “as is” and “as available.”

We do not guarantee:

• uninterrupted service
• error‑free operation
• accuracy of map data
• availability of nearby users
• successful SOS responses

You use the app at your own risk.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, VLB is not liable for:

• personal injury
• property damage
• loss of data
• missed SOS alerts
• inaccurate map results
• user interactions
• marketplace transactions

Your safety decisions are your responsibility.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

• you violate these Terms
• you misuse the app
• you engage in harmful behavior
• required by law

You may delete your account at any time.
